St. John’s, Antigua — Antigua and Barbuda reaffirmed its strong commitment to upholding international standards in anti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism, and proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF) during its active participation in the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) 60th Plenary and Working Group Meetings, held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from 25 – 31 May 2025.

The delegation, led by Lt. Col. Edward Croft, Chairman of the National Oversight Committee on Financial Action (NOCFA), engaged in high-level discussions and peer exchanges centered on regional and global financial integrity priorities. The delegation included representatives from the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP), the Ministry of Legal Affairs, and NOCFA. The Plenary provided a strategic platform to assess the country’s progress on priority actions from the Fourth Round Mutual Evaluation and to position Antigua and Barbuda for a strong showing in the upcoming Fifth Round Evaluation.
Throughout the week, Antigua and Barbuda benefitted from key presentations aimed at strengthening regulatory oversight, enhancing beneficial ownership transparency, and improving inter-agency coordination, while reaffirming its commitment to international standards and regional cooperation through active engagement with CFATF working groups.
“We continue to take bold, strategic steps to strengthen our AML/CFT framework, not just for compliance, but to safeguard the reputation and stability of our financial system,” said Lt. Col. Edward Croft. “Our presence at the Plenary reflects the Government’s unwavering dedication to ensuring Antigua and Barbuda is a secure and compliant jurisdiction in the global financial landscape.”
Antigua and Barbuda will remain engaged with CFATF counterparts in preparing for the Fifth Round Mutual Evaluation, leveraging the technical assistance and best practices shared during the Plenary to guide ongoing national reforms.
