Antigua and Barbuda Demonstrates Strong Regional Leadership at the CFATF 61st Plenary in Barbados
December 1, 2025
Antigua and Barbuda has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to strengthening financial integrity and deepening regional cooperation through its active engagement at the 61st Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) Plenary and Working Group Meetings, held from 24–28 November 2025 in Bridgetown, Barbados.

The national delegation was led by Lt. Col. Edward Croft, Chairman of the National Oversight Committee on Financial Action (NOCFA), and included representatives from the country’s key AML/CFT/CPF agencies: the NOCFA Secretariat, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC), the Attorney General’s Chambers, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, and the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP).
The CFATF Plenary convened regional and international partners to address critical developments in anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and counter-proliferation financing (CPF). Antigua and Barbuda’s participation reflects the Government’s continued leadership in the region and its commitment to rigorous preparation for the upcoming Fifth Round Mutual Evaluation.
Throughout the week, the delegation contributed substantively to a wide range of technical and policy discussions. A key highlight was Antigua and Barbuda’s participation in the Round-Table Discussion on Strengthening Regional Collaboration and Support for Virtual Asset (VA) and Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) AML/CFT Implementation, an area of increasing global focus.
Antigua and Barbuda will continue working closely with the CFATF Secretariat, regional counterparts, and domestic stakeholders to advance its strategic priorities under the National Risk Assessment update and to further strengthen the country’s AML/CFT/CPF framework.
The Government remains firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity, transparency, and international cooperation.
