533lbs of compressed cannabis and 5.6kilos of cocaine were seized on Thursday 7th April, 2016 by the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) during an operation in the Shell Beach area. During the operation 70 year old Marcus RICHARDS, a Vincentian national residing in Antigua and 37 year old Erskine TODD of St. Vincent were arrested.
The cannabis has an estimated wholesale value of One Million Sixty six Thousand Dollars ($1,066,000.00 ECD) whilst the cocaine estimated wholesale value is One Hundred and Ninety Seven Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty Eight Dollars ($197,288.00ECD), both men were charged with Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, Being concerned in the supply of Cannabis and Drug Trafficking, while they also received additional charges of Possession of Cocaine, and Being concerned in the supply of Cocaine and Drug Trafficking.
They are expected to appear before a Magistrate on Monday 11th April, 2016. Investigations are still ongoing.
