On Tuesday 17th December 2013, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) conducted an operation in the Fort Road area resulting in a seizure of approximately 2 kilograms cocaine and slightly over 4.50 lbs of cannabis. The estimated value of the cocaine is approximately $74,000.00 whereas the estimated street value of the cannabis is about $75,000.00. In addition 80 rounds of ammunition was removed from the premises of one of the individuals pending further investigations.

A 43 year old Antiguan male, a 53 year old Dominican Republican citizen who holds Antiguan nationality and a 35 year Dominican Republican national have been detained in connection with the seizure of the contraband. The drugs were discovered inside a vehicle driven by the 35 year old Dominican Republican and occupied by the Antiguan national.

The men have been charged with the following offences; Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Transfer, Being Concerned in the Supply of Cocaine, Possession of Cannabis Possession of Cannabis With Intent to Transfer and Being Concerned in the Supply of Cannabis. They will be arraigned in the St. John’s Magistrate court on Thursday 19th December 2013.
