St. John’s, Antigua – The Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) is pleased to highlight its role in the success of the 55th Regular Session of the Organization of American States (OAS) General Assembly, hosted in St. John’s from 25–27 June 2025. The event drew high-level participation from across the hemisphere and was widely praised by the OAS Secretary General and member states for its excellent organization and strong outcomes.

As part of the proceedings, Lt. Col. Edward Croft, Director of ONDCP and Chair of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), delivered CICAD’s annual report to Ministers and senior officials. He emphasized the critical role of effective drug control in building resilient and inclusive economies. Recognizing the significant reduction in funding for CICAD programmes and projects, the Chair called for sustained collaboration and financing from all member states to support technical assistance across the region.

Antigua and Barbuda, as CICAD Chair, is honored to lead development of the new Hemispheric Plan of Action for 2026–2030, which will guide regional efforts to strengthen security, reduce drug trafficking, and improve public health responses.

ONDCP also recognizes that hosting this landmark Assembly brought increased global recognition to Antigua and Barbuda’s leadership and commitment to addressing shared regional challenges. We commend all OAS member states and partners for their participation and reaffirm our commitment to advancing regional cooperation and sustainable development for the benefit of all the Americas.
