On 12th March, 2014 a brief handover ceremony was held at the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) where Director Edward Croft, presented a range of items to the Commissioner of Police Vere Brown. Lieutenant Colonel Croft, in making the presentation, indicated that the items were to assist the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB) to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. Today’s presentation is indicative of the commitment and co-operation between the ONDCP and the RPFAB.
Specific items were also presented to the Drug Squad as this unit partners with the ONDCP in their counternarcotics effort to keep the streets of Antigua and Barbuda safe for our youths.
Commissioner Vere Brown thanked Director Edward Croft and expressed appreciation for the items on behalf of the entire Constabulary and indicated that the items would help to improve their service to society.
Among the items presented are a camera, a fax machine, a laptop, belts, various types of weapon holsters, and baton and radio pouches.
Also in attendance at the ceremony were Henry Christian – Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations; Head of the Joint Task Force; Head of the Special Service Unit; Head of the Police Drug Squad; and Ms. Marcia Thomas, the Human Resource and Office Manager at the ONDCP.
This presentation is preceded by one in June of 2013 where new computers and office equipment were then presented by the ONDCP to the Police – Proceeds of Crime Unit.
