On Friday 28thSeptember, 2018, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) conducted an operation at the Deep Water Harbor cargo port where a search led to the discovery of a barrel containing compressed cannabis. The cannabis was concealed in several household items to include bed quilts, a microwave and diapers wipes. The barrel is said to have originated from the USA.
The cannabis totaled a combined weight of 39.60lbswhich carries an estimated wholesale value of One Hundred Fifty-Eight Thousand, Four Hundred EC Dollars (XCD$158, 400.00). No arrests have been made thus far in connection to the seizure and investigations are ongoing.
