The Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) along with the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Magistrate destroyed by fire a large quantity of illegal drugs at the Burma Quarry on Wednesday 19th March 2014.
This destruction is a result of the successful completion of a number of cases in the Magistrate’s Court stemming from operations conducted by both the ONDCP and the RPFAB. The total amount of drugs destroyed was 1188.57 lbs of cannabis, 42 kilos of cocaine, 75 grams of hashish and 816 cannabis plants. The value of the destroyed drugs amounts to EC$ 6,799,562.70.
Both agencies have pledged to continue their fight against all illegal narcotics.
