On Friday 30th November, 2013 sentencing was handed down in the High Court in a matter concerning two Canadian nationals and an Antiguan who were arrested on cocaine charges on 14th April, 2012. The trio Robert Viellette and Angie Elliot both Canadian nationals and Kenny Reynolds a former Airport Security Officer colluded to export 4.20 kilos of cocaine through the V.C Bird International Airport.
Viellette was fined $160,000.00 or one (1) year imprisonment if in default. He will also be confined to an additional three (3) years in prison. Elliot was also fined $150,000.00 or one (1) year in default and will be confined for three (3) years in prison. Reynolds was fined $170,000.00 or one (1) year in default and also confined for two (2) years in prison.
Viellette was fined $160,000.00 or one (1) year imprisonment if in default. He will also be confined to an additional three (3) years in prison. Elliot was also fined $150,000.00 or one (1) year in default and will be confined for three (3) years in prison. Reynolds was fined $170,000.00 or one (1) year in default and also confined for two (2) years in prison.
This recent success is a direct result of an operation conducted by Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) at the V.C. Bird International Airport. The ONDCP continues in its fight to dismantle drug trafficking organizations operating within our borders.
