On Friday 25th November 2016, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) conducted a counter-drug operation in the Cedar Grove area. A 46 year old Jamaican male and a 32 year old Jamaican female were held in connection with the successful operation which netted a total of 170lbs 6ozs of cannabis. The drugs which are believed to have originated out of Jamaica, carries an estimated wholesale value of Six Hundred and Eighty-One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($681,500.00 XCD).
A search of the Jamaican male’s residence led to the discovery of a quantity of cash totaling Five Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Dollars and Forty-Five Cents ($5,460.45 XCD).
The duo has been charged with Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Transfer, Being Concerned in the Supply of Cannabis and Drug Trafficking and will appear before the Magistrate on Monday 28th November 2016.
