The High Court handed down sentences on Marvin Carlisle on Friday 21st March 2014. Carlisle was arrested and charged by the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP), in an operation conducted on March 27th 2012 where 357.61 lbs of cannabis was seized.

Justice Keith Thom taking into consideration aggravating and mitigating factors sentenced Carlisle for Possession of Cannabis to four (4) years reduced by a third, to three (3) years and also imposed a fine of EC $ 125,000.00 or one year imprisonment in default. Carlisle who also plead guilty to Drug Trafficking was further sentenced to ten (10) years, reduced by a third making it seven (7) years, and was also fined EC $ 2,110,000.00 or one year imprisonment in default.

The sentences are to run concurrently.
